A new and emerging technique is the Light Fidelity (Li- Fi) technologies which is similar to Wi- Fi. Li- Fi uses light communication. This paper deals with Li-Fi technology and the communication of information through it. It has a higher bandwidth compared to RF waves. The Li-Fi technology proves to be a high speed and efficient communication in any network administration system. Biomedical signals like ECG, EMG, etc are transmitted more effectively and efficiently. The technology employs a simple light emitter such as LED, laser as a source and light receptor such as photodiode, Light dependent resistance (LDR) as a receptor. Li- Fi provides a better network connectivity for biomedical signal and data within the hospital departments.
The ECG Signal which is acquired from the human being with the help of the ECG acquisition kit was transferred using Li Fi. The ECG signal is fed into the Li Fi transmitter circuit. The transmitter circuit consists of the transistor and Light Emitting Diode (LED). The LED is the main component of the transmitter circuit which carries the information through light. The ECG signal information was carried by the light. The light blinks that a very high rate which is not visible to the human eye. Based upon the frequency rate of the signal to be transmitter the blinking of LED can be seen with the naked eye.
