The objectives of the project were
· To provide relief to the people who suffers from sleep apnea.
· To design and develop an automatic hoseless device in micro size.
· To develop a user friendly device.
· Point of care at home.
The design consists of a mask that exactly fits into the nostrils of the patient. The hoses that were causing discomfort to the patients in the earlier APAP designs are removed. The different sensors are used to sense the pressure and humidity levels. The acquired values from sensors are used as an input to the micro controller that automatically regulates the pressure ranges of the blower. This process is based on a feedback mechanism. An event detection algorithm should be developed to maintain the pressure at different levels as required by the patients. An android application acts as a user interface to provide inputs to the device.
The system was simulated on LABView as the below image.
